SPF aid communities of Sterkstroom and Molteno in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. The organisation is assisting in the Education sector.
School Health Care Programme
The project consists of a School Health Care Programme that will establish school-based support teams and gave Skills Development training on sight testing. Small Projects Foundation also screened, tested, and provided children with spectacles. Each of the 11 Schools will also be provided with an Eye Screening Kit and the skills to do further testing in the future.
All four schools in Sterkstroom was screened.
A total of 1,465 children was screened in the four schools in Sterkstroom.
19 of these children were referred to hospitals for infections or surgical needs.
68 of these children will be provided with spectacles.
All seven schools in Molteno was screened.
A total of 2,505 children was screened in the seven schools in Molteno.
17 of these children will be referred to hospitals for infections or surgical needs.
100 of these children will be provided with spectacles.
Language and Literacy Programme
Through the Primary School Language and Literacy Programme, teachers will attend the Funda Wande and Concentrated Language Encounter Courses.
Zero Dropout Programme
To ensure no one is left behind a Zero dropout campaign and Give Yourself a Job Interventions will be applied.
